Gorilla Habituation Experience simply means training wild gorillas to become used to the sight of people. During this process, the people get to understand the gorillas deeper and individually, know their behaviors and even get to the point of naming every single one of them.
This experience can only be found in Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park that harbors fifteen habituated groups that are tracked from four trailheads of Buhoma, Ruhija, Nkuringo and Rushaga.
Gorilla permits must be booked in advance – 6 months prior to the actual habituation day because it restricts the persons to a maximum of 4 people each day for 4 hours in the company of the Gorilla. The best time for this activity is during the months of December all through to March and July to October.
